Jonesborough, TN
Historic Jonesborough, TN, the oldest town in Tennessee, is a picturesque village with a proud heritage. President Andrew Jackson practiced law and served as a judge in Jonesborough before becoming president. Presidents James K. Polk and Andrew Johnson also spent time in Jonesborough.Jonesborough is the "storytelling capital of the world," and home to the International Storytelling Center. The National Storytelling Festival, an annual Jonesborough event for over 30 years,draws thousands of storytellers and listeners each year.
Jonesborough also has a rich musical heritage. The town hosts Music on the Square, a free concert series, every Friday night from May through September. Music is also an important aspect of Historic Jonesborough Days every July.
